Cancer is due to uncontrolled cell growth contributed by disordered activation of cellular genes. The genes that contribute to cancer are called Oncogenes those that prevent the occurrence of cancer are called anti-oncogenes.
Though the cause seems simple, the cells must bye pass several checkpoints that control cell growth and regulation. Cancer cells have certain features with help them evade these natural protective mechanisms.
The following factors are responsible for the occurrence of mutations.
1.Ionizing radiation
2.Exposure to carcinogens.
3.Physical Irritants on Continuous Exposure
4.Hereditary factors
5.Reverse transcriptase.
