Symptoms of Scabies: Discomforting Itch- Secondary Infection – Eczema
Delayed – Secondary infection with Sataphylococcus – Post-Streptococcal glomerulonephritis
Mode of Spread of Scabies: Fomites-Cloths,house hold articles etc.
Diagnosis of Scabies : Identify Scabeitic Burrow / Blunt needle extraction of Mite
Areas Involved In Scabies Infection : Palms & Soles with pustule formation, Genital region involvement in young boys. Face & Scalp unusual.
Treatment of Scabies : All family members and even unaffected contacts should be treated.
Drugs for Scabies:
Aqueous Solution of Permethrin or Malation – Two applications One Week Apart.
for Norwegian Scabies
Ivermectin 200mcg/Kg i Single Dose.
